We envision a world where children and adults through community have the confidence to explore new possibilities. By providing a safe, nurturing place and opportunities to learn, we empower them to initiate meaningful projects, rebuild their lives with dignity, thrive independently, and create a life they love.
We believe that the journey of creating is just as important as the final product, so we consider ourselves a “process art” studio - where we value the BEING & CREATING together as much as the end result.
Our Kids Camps are curated by Mica May, Founder of Austin DIY Studio.
Starting in Austin, Texas, Mica May launched Austin DIY Studio as a passion project. She’d always dreamed of a studio that hosted DIY projects that are both whimsical and sophisticated. Providing a creative space for events and gatherings to make something you would actually be proud to show off! She believes there is power where there is a collective creative energy - so gathering and making is her favorite thing!
Susan Graves shares the same creative mindset and goals. She gives herself and her kids permission to make beautiful messes, works of art, creating oooodles of memories. She desires for all kids to have a place for total creative freedom.
Susan and Mica met in New York City and became fast entrepreneur friends in 2010. Their professional paths of May Designs (Mica’s Company of 18 years) and Simply Personal (Susan’s company of 20 years) has led these two (now) MOM’s to integrate WORK and LIFE to create the greatest DIY Studios! Susan purchased the first franchise in April 2024 for her beloved small towns of Sealy, Bellville and surrounding areas.
